I was invited to take part in the Youth Cook Book project, which is a local fund-raiser for the Jonesborough Locally Grown Farmers Market. Several cooks and artists were invited to write or illustrate a chapter of the book, which will be targeted towards children.
"This is such a fun adventure in using a very talented community in a fund-raising opportunity for the JLG Farmers Market. The little people in our lives need to know how to survive in the kitchen and the enjoyment and thrill of preparing something good to eat for themselves and their families. They will especially enjoy the glory and praise they receive for their cooking. We are not aiming to produce chefs, but just helping children to learn the basics of preparing simple foods that are tasty" -Pat Sheets, Cook Book Coordinator
Here is a sneak peak at my page on Kitchen Safety. The book will be assembled and released next year and I will give an update then. If you know a child or teen that likes to cook, keep it in mind for them when it is ready.
